Benoît GIRAULT is Director of the Conservatoire à rayonnement régional de Paris, an internationally renowned institution renowned for its excellence and the exceptional quality of its teaching staff. 

The school offers programs ranging from initial cycles to advanced departments in performance, creation and professional integration; the many projects it develops with its partners - the Orchestre de Paris, the Philharmonie de Paris, Le Théâtre de la Ville, Le Théâtre du Châtelet, Le Concert Spirituel, El Sistema in Venezuela, Festival de Saintes, Salle Gaveau, the accentus choir, Paris museums, etc. - enable students to perform regularly during their studies. Since the start of the 2023 academic year, it has been home to a “well-being and health, prevention, accessibility and disability” center.

 

As a pianist, he graduated from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris in harmony and counterpoint, analysis, music history, aesthetics, orchestration and instrumentation, and conducting. A finalist in the Tokyo and Besançon International Conductors Competitions, Benoît Girault enjoys an international career : he has performed in Brussels, Stuttgart, Amsterdam, Singapore, Tokyo, Sapporo, Paris (Salle Pleyel, Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, Théâtre du Châtelet). He was Artistic Director and Principal Guest Conductor of the Orchestre Philharmonique du Maroc from 2007 to 2012. His musical personality reveals itself in the eclecticism of his tastes and activities: he conducts the operatic repertoire (Tosca, La Bohème, La Traviata, Les Noces de Figaro, La Flûte enchantée - on tour with Opéra-Éclaté -, Don Giovanni, La Périchole), the music of our time (Stravinsky, Boulez), the great masterpieces of the repertoire (Mozart, Beethoven, Debussy and Ravel).

He was director of the CRR de Cergy-Pontoise and director of culture and artistic education for the Cergy-Pontoise urban community (2015-2022).

Youth Orchestra

 

The Conservatoire à rayonnement régional de Paris offers four symphony orchestras adapted to the level of its students. In addition, the advanced orchestral training department welcomes students who already hold diplomas from higher institutions and wish to prepare for orchestral competitions.

​

The youth orchestra is made up of musicians preparing for the DEM (Diploma of Musical Studies).
