A graduate of the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, where she studied with Larissa Dedova and Sergei Dorensky, she has won several international competitions: the Rubinstein Competition in Poland (1993), the Serge Rachmaninov International Piano Competition in Moscow (1997), the Queen Elisabeth International Piano Competition in Brussels (2003), and the José Iturbi International Piano Competition in Valencia, Spain (2006). Valentina Igoshina is a regular guest on the major international stages, performing in recital and concerto in London, Zurich, Milan, Paris, Moscow, Luxembourg, Madrid, Tokyo, Saint Louis and Sydney, and at the Radio France Montpellier, La Roque d'Anthéron and Piano aux Jacobins festivals, Piano en Valois, Piano Folies, Annecy Classic Festival and with major orchestras such as the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Hallé in Manchester, BBC Glasgow, the Galician Philharmonic, the Polish Radio Orchestra, the Orchestra of Santiago de Chile and the Japan Philharmonic Tokyo. Valentina has released several CDs with Warner Classics, many of which have won awards. Alongside her concert activities, Valentina Igoshina is very involved in training young pianists. Passionate about teaching, she is a professor at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris and, since 2021, at the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles. She also gives numerous masterclasses, notably at the Académie Internationale d'été in Nice and at the International Piano Masterclasses in Kato (Japon).
