Loïc Lafontaine
Member of the jury, 2026

Manager of Yamaha Artist Services Europe, Loïc Lafontaine, originally from Martinique, received a solid classical music education from an early age with renowned teachers, first at the Bordeaux Conservatory from the age of four and then at the Paris Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique. His career has been marked by numerous awards, including at the prestigious International Competition for Great Piano Amateurs in Paris, the 21st edition of which was held at the Salle Gaveau, where he won three awards: first prize (jury prize), the international press prize and the audience prize. This title enabled him to record St-Saëns' Second Concerto with the Orchestre de la Garde Républicaine during a gala concert in the Grand Amphitheatre of the Sorbonne in Paris. A few months later, at the International Competition for Great Piano Amateurs in Berlin, he also won three awards, including once again the Audience Prize. On this occasion, he performed Liszt's Totentanz as a soloist with the Sibelius Orchestra in the main hall of the prestigious Berlin Philharmonic. These titles add to the many distinctions he has received at previous international events.
These artistic awards complement his administrative career at Yamaha Artist Services Europe, an organisation specialising in artist relations and the promotion of Yamaha and Bösendorfer concert pianos. He thus pursues two careers that he considers to be absolutely complementary and inseparable. Whether as a soloist, chamber musician or with an orchestra, Loïc Lafontaine shares his art with unwavering passion.
